Dementia 101 “Understanding Brain Changes”

Amanda Snow Bulgarelli, M.Ed.

April 13, 2018 : 8:00 am – 4:00 pm

In today’s world, it is nearly impossible to live completely isolated.  We are connected to so many different people, tasks, and locations on a daily basis that when someone starts to experience brain change, everyone around that person is affected too.  In this training, learn to take a big-picture look at all six of Teepa’s puzzle pieces that make up that person’s life and how dementia will affect each piece.  We will use the six components to discuss individual planning and communication.  Learners will walk away with tools and tips that can ease this journey for the person living with dementia by focusing on what we can change rather than the pieces that we can’t change. With a master’s degree in Educational Leadership and Administration, Amanda has been a teacher and leader in schools since 2007. Amanda brings her teaching and leadership experience to the PAC community as a mentor, trainer, and leader. Growing up with Teepa as a mother, Amanda has been a part of the Positive Approach™ to Care from the beginning; serving originally as a teenage volunteer while Teepa developed and refined her approach and skills. Since the training runs in her veins, Amanda can’t wait to spread the knowledge and awareness that Teepa Snow gives to the world around us.
